Technical Assistance Center on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports is a project of the federal Office of Special Education Programs in the United States Department of Education. The Center provides schools with capacity-building information and technical assistance for identifying, adapting, and sustaining effective school-wide disciplinary practices.


Association for Positive Behavior SupportThe Association for Positive Behavior Support is an international organization dedicated to the advancement of positive behavior support. APBS strives to expand application of this approach with children, adolescents, and adults with problem behavior. The Association is made up of professionals, family members, trainers, consumers, researchers, and administrators who are involved and interested in Positive Behavior Support. APBS, as a unifying home for these individuals from various communities and backgrounds, is a multidisciplinary association seeking members from all fields with interests in behavior support.

Idea PartnershipThe IDEA Partnership is dedicated to improving outcomes for students and youth with disabilities by joining state agencies and stakeholders through shared work and learning. Pennsylvania belongs to the Idea Partnership's National Community of Practice on Collaborative School Behavioral Health.

Interdisciplinary organization committed to investigating and applying behavioral, cognitive, and other evidence-based principles to assessment, prevention, and treatment.

Based at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, the Center for School Mental Health aims to strengthen policies and programs in school mental health to improve learning and promote success for America's youth. 

The School Mental Health Project (SMHP) at the University of California at Los Angeles pursues theory, research, practice and training related to addressing mental health and psychosocial concerns through school-based interventions. 

Journal on Positive Behavior Interventions: Journal offering "sound, research-based principles of positive behavior support for use in school, home and community settings with people with challenges in behavioral adaptation." Editorial board includes two members of the PAPBS State Leadership Team.


Positive Behavior Support in Other States

Florida's Positive Behavior Support Project: 
The purpose of Florida's Positive Behavior Support Project is to increase the capacity of Florida's school districts to address problem behaviors using Positive Behavior Support.

Illinois Network for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports:
The Illinois PBIS Statewide Leadership Team guides the design and implementation of a long-range plan for Positive Behavior Interventions and Support in Illinois. The goal is to ensure that all Illinois schools in need of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports have access to the training, technical assistance, and evaluation support required for success.
